Administrative Assistant

The Canadian Association for Suicide Prevention (CASP) is pleased to announce an opening for the role of Administrative Assistant.  Reporting to the Executive Director, this individual will play an important role in enabling CASP’s mission of preventing suicide and promoting life across Canada.  The Administrative Assistant will provide support to staff and Board of Directors and its Committees, to ensure that the operational functions of the organization are carried out in an effective and coordinated manner.

CASP is a virtual organization, with our employees working as part of a dispersed team across the country. 

 

Responsibilities: 

    • Provide administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the organization
    • Act as the point of contact for internal and external persons
    • Respond to external messages and direct them as appropriate
    • Schedule & organize the logistics of meetings for Board, Executive, Staff and Committees,
    • Make travel arrangements for Staff and Board
    • Assist in the preparation of reports
    • Prepare and respond to internal financial record needs in coordination with the bookkeeper
    • Maintain contact lists
    • Manage membership lists
    • Maintain and update files, including policies and procedures
    • Participate in donor recognition activities
    • Other tasks that may be assigned from time to time 

 

Qualifications

    • Proven experience as an Administrative Assistant (minimum 3 years)
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Knowledge of office management systems and procedures
    • Proficiency in MS Office (MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, in particular)
    • Knowledge of Wild Apricot an asset
    • Capacity to speak and write in French an asset
    • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
    • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task
    • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills

 

Work environment

The successful candidate will be working from their home office using remote collaboration tools.  This means that the Administrative Assistant will need to have a reliable computer, a stable internet connection, and a secure, distraction-free environment in which to work.

 

Salary

This salary for this position is $25.63/hour  for 21 hours of work per week ($32,179 including benefits)
