Forests of Hope Program

Our new long-term program helps raise awareness about suicide prevention and promote healing for those impacted by suicide loss, while contributing to a healthy and sustainable forest. Every year, with the assistance of partners and volunteers, CASP will choose a new location in Canada to plant seedlings in honour of loved ones who died by suicide or in the name of hope.

On October 22, 2022, the first Forest of Hope in Canada was planted in Ontario. The second Forest of Hope was planted on October 21, 2023 in Potlotek, Nova Scotia.

We will ensure the property becomes a productive and ecologically healthy forest and visitors will learn about the property and suicide prevention through various informational signs.

Forests of Hope will be established across Canada, so as many people as possible can learn, join our important work to prevent suicide, and comfort family and friends that have experienced the loss of a loved one by suicide.
