Potlotek, Nova Scotia

The Forest of Hope is a long-term program by CASP to help raise awareness about suicide prevention and promote healing while contributing to a healthy and sustainable forest.  Our second Forest of Hope was planted in Potlotek First Nation, Nova Scotia in partnership with Potlotek First Nation, Roots of Hope, Injury Free Nova Scotia, Port Hawkesbury Paper and the Canadian Mental Health Association Nova Scotia Division.

In the first phase of this project, volunteers planted 200 red oak, yellow birch, red spruce, white spruce, and black spruce seedlings at Mi’kmawey School/Allan Lafford High School Area located at 344 Sitmuk Awti in Potlotek, Nova Scotia.
