Alysa (Aly) Raposo received her Bachelor of Arts degree in 2018 from the University of Manitoba and completed her Applied Counselling certificate in 2024. She is currently enrolled in the Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology program at Yorkville University. Aly works tirelessly to advocate for mental health and human rights. She has served as a facilitator, researcher, and speaker in these fields, delivering presentations nationally and internationally.
Her initiatives have earned her numerous awards, including: CBC Manitoba Future 40 finalist (2017), YMCA-YWCA Young Woman of Distinction Award (2017), Achievement Award, Arts Celebrating Arts at the University of Manitoba (2017), University of Manitoba Emerging Leader Award (2018), and nomination for Woman Entrepreneur of the Year Award (2020).
Aly was selected as a 2021 delegate to represent the federal riding of Kildonan-St. Paul at the Daughter’s of the Vote Equal Voice Canada Political Summit. She was also invited to speak with the Government of Canada – Forum of Federations as a mentor and speaker to young women in the MENA region, including Jordan, Morocco, and Tunisia, in a program titled “Empowering Women for Leadership Roles.”
In addition to her advocacy and speaking work, Aly was appointed to the first Human Rights Committee of Council for the City of Winnipeg in 2019 and currently serves as its Coordinator. She was also selected in 2022 to serve as a council member for the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority (WRHA) Ethics Council.
