Elisa Brewer-Singh is the Executive Director for the Waterloo Region Suicide Prevention Council, where she has served since 2016. She is the former Executive Director of the Ontario Association for Suicide Prevention, and Co-Chair of the Canadian Suicide Prevention Coordinators Network. She leverages her passion for community-based suicide prevention and a Master’s degree in Spiritual Care and Counselling to increase dialogue, advocate for improved access to services, and support individuals and families bereaved by suicide.
With a Regional, Provincial and National focus, Elisa has collaborated with school boards, non-profits, service and healthcare providers, and government agencies to build trauma-informed and evidence-based practices. Through her work facilitating upstream prevention and bereavement programming, she aims to foster hope, help and healing, and envisions engaged communities committed to suicide prevention.
Outside of work, Elisa enjoys spending time with her husband, actively supporting their two sons and their hockey teams, and unwinding through long walks with her dog.
